Michele Nemesi has more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry. In 2009 he was part of the team who opened the Ghanaian market to TEAM Group, an international engineering consultancy firm Italian based. After three years spent with the Group in managerial positions between Ghana and Nigeria, where the Group has its West African headquarters, he set up AYA Engineering in Ghana, a subsidiary of TEAM Group. He is the managing director of AYA Engineering and he has spent the last 5 years developing projects, mainly in the railway sector, with a total portfolio of more than $50M.
Michele’s project experience includes large transformational projects in Ghana and Nigeria. Most recently, he has been involved in the development of the Ghana Railway Master Plan, and in projects at different levels of completion such as the design vetting and construction supervision of the Takoradi-Sekondi Railway Line, the front end engineering design, final design and construction supervision of the 330 km Western Corridor Railway Line, the front end engineering design of the Eastern Corridor Railway Line in Ghana as well as the design vetting and construction supervision of the Idu-Kaduna Railway Line in Nigeria. He has a unique combination of excellent technical, professional and managerial skills with a depth of knowledge and understanding of the Ghanaian and Nigerian railway sector.
He has ably led the Company’s local business development efforts with the creation of Aya Engineering, a Ghanaian registered engineering consulting company that is staffed by Ghanaians and Expatriates and supported by Team Engineering, its Italian affiliate with over 40 years experience and technical knowledge in engineering.
Michele holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Politecnico of Milan. He is registered with the Italian and the Ghanaian Institution of Engineers.
