A holder of Master of Science degree in Commercial Shipping Management from World Maritime University, Malmo Sweden; Post Graduate Diploma (Distinction) in Ports, Shipping and Transport Management from International Maritime Transport Academy, Netherlands and a Bachelor of Education (Hons) degree in Physics and Mathematics, Nairobi.
Served a two year period as a high school teacher before joining Kenya Ports Authority in 1991 for a period of 15 years and moved thereafter to Kenya Maritime Authority in 2004 as the Head of Commercial Shipping Department.
Attended a number of professional courses on improvement of port performance, management of general and container cargo operations as well as advanced inter-modal transport operation courses. Past publications are ‘Establishment of a national shippers’ council in Kenya’ and ‘the role of a Maritime Administration in Kenya’s maritime sector’. Is a part time lecturer in a number of maritime training institutions in Mombasa.
